I started my group at the University of Toronto in 2000. I am interested in understanding the principles that govern protein homeostasis in the cell. So, we aim to address the fundamental question of how molecular chaperones and ATP-dependent proteases modulate protein folding in the cell. Our work also has a translational aspect leading to the development of novel antibiotics and anticancers.
